It is believed that FIDE are planning to introducing new rules that will require at least a National Arbiter to be present at all FIDE rated matches in FIDE rated leagues. This, coupled with the fact that FIDE will very soon take over the training and qualification of all licensed arbiters means that Ireland should really have as many licensed arbiter as possible before any such regulations come into effect.
